Re: unballanced load

I had a House burn to the ground in North Carolina because of a dropped neutral.. someone hit a tree down the road and It fell on the lines.. well it broke the the top secondary line(neutral) and everything ran as normal.. Instead of 230vac voltage went to 208vac the homes that had new plumbing in it (pvc) went dead
power outage.. the older homes with copper or galv. steel plumbing kept on ticking.. well my copper pipes in the house became the netural.. because it was copper to the well(Grounded) the old lady said that we don't have any cold water .. its hot on both sides.. I didn't think much about it .. she never told me that the tv's didn't come on, lights were dim.. about 3 in the morning the copper water pipes started blowing apart and that's when the fire started.. the copper water lines became the neutral.. they heated up like a heater element.. the solder melted .. Fire..

this was 3 houses ago.. late 70's but cutting a ground wire will KILL YOU
