As a sub, it is your responsibility to maintain your own employee records. If he requests this information, I believe I would disclose it only after entering into contract with him and then only after I consulted my attorney, about relinquishing such records. Remember this has ALL your employees personal info and you are responsible for its security.
I have never as a sub been required to disclose this info and I have never as a prime been pressured from any body to requests it of my subs.
I can however understand his concern if you are working in a climate that is succeptable to the hiring of illegal immigrants.
