The splice was in 750 going across the Red River; It seems that some redneck shot the cable up one day and the tech that used to work the system went out and spliced it back together. I had to roll out there on an outage because this one sucked out. Was one of the most pathetic splices I'd ever seen in my life. Man that owns the system hasn't replaced the trunk because he plans on running fiber across in the future. Small Mom and Pop MSO. You get the picture. There are nine splices in this run. It's wicked. The bridge was built in 1910 and is an old rusty iron thing. Cable is run about 3/4 of the way up the bridge on the outside of the beams. It's wild. Not as wild as the time we ran fiber across the Ouchita River south of Monroe,La. 150' up on the power poles, pulled it across with a boat while we climbed up and made our attachments. Now that was a fun job. Made some big duckies on that one.
