You bring up a perfect point. They both came to a mutual agreement. But when you turn around and say "we have no record of the work you did" and refuse to pay, that agreement is null and void and the agreement, and in my opinion the gloves are off.
Screw me out of money that I worked for and expended my time and $$$$ to complete for your gain and I'll end you and your business six ways to Sunday without any regrets.
There are forms from the IRS that can be filled out that can cause alot more damage than an SS-8 will, and end up with the govt. stepping in with criminal charges. But those I wont mention here, but they can be found on the IRS site if you dig deep enough.
