Has anyone else heard?

My husband called today stating that the beginning of 2009 he will be considered a employee of his contractor, they will take taxes, insurance and such, but he will still drive his own truck and pay his own fuel Pay is at piece rate, most likely without any increases. This is under Comcast... Has anyone else heard of this happening?
