The real problem is some providers "process" a standard 480i formated feed and upconvert it to 1080i and call THAT a HD signal. Granted, it might show as 1080, but it's still origninating as a 480 picture.
In my opinion, the only true HD picture is one where the broadcaster uses actual HD cameras to shoot the show/event, and then send it out as true 1080 HD content. No upconverting or nothing. Clean, pure 1080-HD from camera lens to your TV.
