After Hurricane Hugo hit the US Virgin Island in 1989 CNN did a report. They said that men armed with machetes were taking over the Island and the police were overrun. They then had the nerve to call the Govenor on live TV asking him how he was going to retake control of his island. He laughed then told them that what their helicopter was taking video of was neighbors hacking the limbs off of fallen trees and preparing them for the guys in public work to chop them up with large chain saws and remove them. This is done to help clear the roads and is a West Indian tradition to help your community recover ASAP. I was not aware of a retraction or correction statement ever being aired. They ran with their tail between their legs. Talk about misinformation and making shit up!
