Re: wierd lawsuits

There have been 700 documented burn cases involving McDonald's coffee in a span of ten years. That's 70 cups a year. If you consider the number of cups sold each year, the injury rate is less than 1 in 24 million. So how can anyone blame McDonalds when they've sold that many cups of coffee without incident?

Also, the National Coffee Association (ncausa.org) recommends that coffee be brewed between 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit and should be enjoyed immediately. It should be maintained at 180-185 degrees Fahrenheit. The coffee that burned Stella Liebeck was within this range. McDonald's was serving coffee as recommended by the NCA.

Apparently, the only people dumber than this lady are jurors and McDonalds' corporate defense lawyers.
