My wife actually studied that one....it seems mcdonalds was serving their coffee hotter than normal and had been sued already and was told to turn it down a notch....yes this woman was stupid for putting hot coffee in her lap but the burns were way beyond what a regular cup of coffee would have caused. We're talking bad blistering of the skin and coffee that was 170 degrees. I use to think that one was frivolous until I heard more of the facts.
