On-Call Compensation

I have a question for those of you that have to pull On-call duty.
When I was in the states and had on-call I was paid $75.00 extra for the week plus 2 hours @ time and a half each time I was called out. Any calls over 2 hours were paid at time and a half. The company I work for now is giving 1 comp-day for each week on call. For me it works out to an extra 15 vacation days a year. Needless to say they don't like the idea of me having 30 days paid time off a year so there looking to change the on-call compensation.

My question is what are you given for putting your life on hold for a week?
(confused)(confused)
