Salesdog and I work the same job (I think). I get a salary for my 80hrs in two weeks, but they ask way more hours than that out of the whole crew. Saturday is manditory most of the time and evenings are not optional either. We do get paid piece rate on installs, but some of the rates are horrible. You just have to keep the contractor mind salesdog, if they pay for it do it, if you are not making money, let someone else make it. The reason most of us in house sales guys don't do a new install is that we don't get paid for it. Why do a job that I used to get paid 100 to 150 for and take 20 for it now. That doesn't make sense. I can leave it for an installer to make a couple bucks on and keep the good guys working for a couple more days.
It is easy, if the only way the job is going to get done is if you do it, then do it, get paid and take that lump. Otherwise schedule the work and help out your install brothers. Every install you do for free takes food out of their children's mouths.
Re: SO what do you guys think of this one?
