Which market is this in? I just moved to the Charlotte area and met with one prime and a sub of another prime. I will not name names because these folks have chosen to make the best of what they have. One prime refused to discuss pricing until after my background check and drug screening were complete. The sub of a prime disclosed his prices, which weren't the worst in the world but I would still have to do twice the work for half of the money I am used to making. Install specs were easy to accomplish, I just decided to hang up my gaffs after 18 years as opposed to working 70+ hours for $900 a week.
I am selling all of my tools and meters and I have stripped down my van and start doing courier work tomorrow morning. After estimated fuel cost, I'll still average $4000 a month and only work Monday through Friday.
Gentlemen, it's been a rocky road but I have no regrets. Good luck to all of you.
