Re: Any info on Comcast cutting contractor prices?

I had a conversation with the shop manager at the last cable shop I worked at. We discussed the problems with declining pay and I put the blame on shops for taking the cuts. He said they end up doing it because otherwise techs would be out of a job. I reassured him that those kinds of tactics aren't doing techs any favors. I told him the work wasn't going away and that just because a shop gets canned doesn't mean the tech can't just find work at another shop the following day anyway. I told him a good tech can work anywhere. I called him out and told him that the only reason shops take the cuts is that they can pass it on down. I told him shops do it just so they can stay in business, not for no principles like he alleged.
