Being West Indian I can understand most of it. Where I am from our native tongue is much closer to English. It is pretty much broken english with a changed pronounciation do to the influence of African dialects. Most West Indians can understand each other if they are from a historically english speaking Island or territory. The Gullah is very close to my Island's dialect except they have their own unique twist.
