2000 chevy 3500 hd start up problems

Im having a hard time on start ups on my truck. The truck is a diesel engine with 64000 miles on it. The problems are in the morning and if I cut the truck off and try to crank it about a hour later. Once I get it running the truck runs great. Any info would be appreciated.
