Well you really have 2 options and they were mentioned previously, but I'll mention them again.
1) headend even though you frown on this Idea you can get many digital receivers and convert them to feed an analog picture on the TVs. And BTW you would only need the boxes for the channels you can't already see without the box.
Step 2 would be needed as well to complete.
2) Find your main drop and add splitters and amps to it. I would suggest getting someone who knows what there looking for so that particular channels do not deteriorate. You can always do the simple math if you really wanna do it yourself. It's much easier once you know how many DBs you start with. Just remember every splitter has a DB on it. This DB would be your loss in signal. The AMP would boost your DB. I would suggest to try and stay within 5 DB if you dunno your signal for the simple fact I don't think the cable company would drop you to that low. Whatever you do Make sure you stay relatively close to the number you started.
Again, Splitters subtract the number and AMPs add the number. I hope this helps.
