I've been in cable 28 years and when I went to do the same I too was shocked to see that there were people out there that thought that they could dare challenge me on the knowledge that I've acquired over the years. But I found myself just butting my head up against a wall. I had to decide to "show them". Six months and $2,000 later I possess an electrical administrators license for both OSP and ISP, a contractors license and a business license. Soon after that I approached My local MSO made my presentation touting my 28 years experience. Now I have a prime(I bill the MSO directly) contract, I'm still a extremely small operator but those were the first steps. You've heard that old saying "you can't get there from here" It seems if you go over there you can get to where you want to be!
