I've been dealing with like this for a while. They think if they share any information that you might take their job or that he won't be the 'smart guy'. The only true knowledge you will gain is out in the field. Don't waste your money on classes because they don't have to deal with cable, weather, or splicing hacks. If your reflection is on the fwd path, try using a 10db attenuator on your fwd lead. I have found it to help. Get to know the MDR board in the Motorola 1 gig gear, but stay away from the metal pods. Only tweak the plastic ones to find out which pods affect the different areas of the spectrum. If you are getting your reflection on the return path, make sure it is not coming in that way. If not you can move your return lead to different ports to see which leg it may be coming from. Motorola does not pre-stuff the return path so you could be getting an open from that. You may hve to terminate the leg at the amp to see if you can make it go away or go install a return eq and a high value pad on the actives off that amp.
