It is a sign of respect...however, one must give respect to get respect. Do you think it is very respectful to stereotype? People will not assimilate to a culture that spews hatred under the cover of the law.
I agree people should do things the legal and respectful way, but how do they learn to do that the way things are currently being discussed?
So many cultures fear the laws will hurt them rather than help them that they just avoid trying all together.
The police are stereotyped as people who uphold the law via racial profiling. While I may love the police and think they are helpful another may fear them based on stereotypes.
IMO....people want to do the right thing in most circumstances, they are simply afraid because of the hostility we have created by the way we are communicating on this subject.
OK....I am ready to get pounded for saying what is right, so bring it on, if you dare!!!!
