VZ teaches u to free climb only. I had to do their climbing class even though i had been climbing for 15yrs. They said to climb like we show u in class and then after u get out u can climb any way u feel like. We dont use the manhole rescue kit. I still get in trouble every time my sup comes by and i am up a pole. I dont wear gloves when climbing and thats a no no. I just tell them to write me up if they want. Unless its cold out i wear short sleeve shirts also. They always ask me what happens if i gaff out and get splinters all over my hands and arms. I tell them thats the difference between us. I dont plan on gaffing out.
