Amen, bro! Dragging double guard arms, with pole gains, braces, lags, and most of the time, at least two steps, seperates the men from the boys. I too cut my teeth on G.O. 95. Wasn't bad when I was doing strand mapping and make-ready engineering, but when I actually had to build it, that was hell. All brace and bit action too. Placed lots of 1/2" strand for sidewalk guys too. Anywhere else, you just throw up whatever size strand you are building. Not in Cali. You go by the lead/ height ratio, which is the height of the attachment verses the distance between the base of the pole to the anchor. I still have my "pull finder" for figuring out the pull on the pole for side guys too. We've probably crossed paths if you were working southern Cal early to late 80's.
