I always say go synthetic on every fluid and get the fluid from the manufacturer like GM or Ford. When you do the tranny fluid changes, go with a T-Tech type change. That is where they pump new fluid in through the hoses as the old fluid is dumped through the hoses as well. It's like a blood transfusion and the only way to ensure you get all of the old fluid out. Otherwise, a pan drop tranny fluid change only catches 40% to 60%. Once I've hit the 150k mark, I've done back to back tranny flushes, same at every 150k interval.
You also have to be real careful about who does your tranny flushes because some shops have some real bozos who just throw Dexron in everything. Dexron will eat up a Mopar tranny. Either supervise them putting in the fluid or ask them to give you the empty bottles. I failed to do this on my wife's minivan and now her tranny is shot. Jerkwads put in Dexron III instead of ATF+4.
