I've been on this quest to find the perfect hammer drill.

Out of desparation, I just bought an 18v Makita, Lithium Ion. It's cool.. looks pretty.. . has l.e.d.s up front. Would make a nice Christmas gift for a woman... I paid $299 plus 7% tax.

Here's what I want.. ... a Ridgid 24v lithium ion for a grand total of $337. I love Ridgid, and they have a lifetime battery replacement warranty.

Anybody out there ever owned a Makita? What was your take on it? Is it worth keeping?

I'm really digging those L.E.D.'s up front, thought.
