please quit doing re-installs for 30 bucks. i'm assuming you are doing dns work. next time do this. call your shop, tell them you aren't doing this for 30 bucks. hang up. call dish. tell them the job has to be re-installed from scratch or your shop told you not to touch it. youi need them to modify to a dish mover. if they offer the re-install code that might work, depends on your shop and the time/materials to get the job done. if they refuse outright call back one more time. if it doesn't work that time don't do the job. explain to the customer that you were trying to help, but dish won't budge. write down what the job is and why and show the customer. then tell them to call dish.
you may not wind up doing the job, but who ever does will get paid what the job is worth or at least what as close to it as possible.
some helpful hints: if the customer pays on time and hasn't had any service calls in a year they are entitled to one free mover a year. csr's are not created equal. if the job is less than a year old it's under warranty from the original installer, but you might still get the job right then. if you don't get the job, the guy that does might be the guy that owes you money.if your shop is going to punish you for not working for free, work somewhere else.
i know this thread wasn't about dish, sorry for the soapbox.
