What you say is true. True liberty consists in the privilege of enjoying our own rights, not in the destruction of the rights of others.
As for justice, it is itself the great standing policy of civil society: and any departure from it, under any circumstances, lies under the suspicion of being no policy at all. Ben Franklin once said " Justice is as strictly due between neighbor nations, as between neighbor citizens."
