Two (or 3) possibilities:
1. They are doing a time and motion study. Slow down real slow and show no tricks. Do ity all by their spec............If they can demonstrate that a skilled tech can do a task in X seconds all will be expected to perform in the same time. The US Post Ofice used to do this and that was the only time of the year our regular carrier did not jump fences or walk on the lawn.
2.They want to improve you. An old study by Western Electric in the 30s tried to find the best work environment so they tried many different working conditions..All improved the output. At the end of the study the employees were put back in the crappy line jobs they had and their improved production vanished....It was the attention of management to their conditions that made them produce more. They cooperated even under poor conditions and did mopre.
3. They want to fire your ass. The QC guys already have accepted less money that you....when they say they have your deal down you are gone.
