$30 /Call? Has anyone calculated costs?

Theres a posting for a service tech to troubleshoot individual problems from tap to first amp.. They are paying a whopping $30 per call and this is in a post disaster area...

If I go to the store and buy a six pack it cost me $25 by the time I get gas and an ice cream sandwich for the dog. I know that in the 1970's when gas was well below $1.00, companies calculated it cost $25 to make a sales call. No telling what it is now... So whats the deal? Is there anyone out there that would even go pee on a tap for $30 and still make money?, much less provide truck, commercial vehicle and liability insurance and a $5,000 meter, put up a ladder several times for $30 friggin dollars?

Is it me? Am I losing it? What am I missing?
