Speaking as an employer who is NOT in the Installs business, WHY ARE YOU WORKING FOR FREE??? Are these problems few and far between? Or is it a weekly (or daily occurence)? If you are an employee you are possibly running the risk of working for less than minimum wage, for which your employer could face serious problems from your state. If you are a sub, do the math. Look to work in a different system. Maybe you'll pay more in gas, but if the work is steady, it should more than pay off.....
If you choose to stay, take a bit of initiative and inspect the equipment you are assigned before you accept it. Some companies would LOVE to backcharge for damaged/broken equipment and the only way to prove you didn't do it is to inspect it and test it yourself first.....
