Re: About halsted's training

OK here is my best shot at answering your questions, If they are good enough to pay yur lodging it is a pretty good bet you will get paid training also, it will not be much but hey they are training you for free right? When you get back you will probably ride for two weeks before they throw you to the wolves so pay attention and ask questions if you need to. The only thing with tech training is that the guy u ride with will be busier than hell and will expect you to help him make as much money as possible while he has a "helper". Since you have some experience and probably have tools to boot he may try and hold you back to help him as long as possible since he gets all the installation money. You are starting fresh with a new company so here is my advice, Stand up and demand respect right from the start, Do not give them any reason to single you out, alot of tech's don't realize that a first impression means everything and if you let them know right from the start that you are there to do your job and you don't take crap from anyone it will help you in the long run. And another thing, learn how they want the paperwork done and strive to complete it without error and cover your backside on anything that is suspect by noting it on the work order, paperwork is the #1 reason for tech's getting backcharged and harrassed by management, if you can do your job and your paperwork correctly they will see you as an asset and not another contractor that they have to babysit. Sorry so long winded but the way you present yourself will go a long way in how you are treated in this industry. Good Luck(smokin)
