Yep lazarust, I missed "install". My Bad. What you are describing sounds like Verizon FTTP. I haven't done any installs for them but the drops I saw on hand only had the Opti-Tap connector on one end which would require a burn on the customer's end. I have worked for vendors which require a burn at both ends of the drop do to no FDH Boxes. Splitters are in the splice closure, spliced directly to the drop. They are creating a maintenance nightmare IMO. The company I'm doing work currenty for is the only one I've seen using drops with Opi-Tap connectors on both ends. I guess it depends who the vendor is. I'm sure I'll see it done different in the near future.
