Re: last man out
OK, cannot resist this one. Bottom line is this "Last man out, if service call, first man out"! The problem is that in this industry people (Sub-contractors) like to complain but provide no action. I have been banned from many contractors because I speak up and tell it like it is. Union? LOL, you people need to come back to Earth! Unions are for EMPLOYEES, hello? What does a union do? Hmmm, we want this or else we will stop working. Oh by the way, it's ok if you don't pay us while we don't work and of course I understand I will not be eligble for ANY benefits while I'm on strike either. SUB-CONTRACTORS PLEASE READ THIS the IRS and Federal Deptment of Labor is on your side! No need for a union or union dues. We all pay enough taxes already. Very thin line between a sub-contractor and an employee. If you feel you are being treated as an employee but your a sub-contractor, print out form SS-8 from the IRS website. Fill it out, send it in. They will have the employer/contractor fill out the same form and then THEY will decide your status. Trust me, they want EMPLOYEE taxes from the company/contractor! If they can find a reason to declare you an employee they will enforce it! Now back to last man out...if we sub-contractors stop "cleaning up" after these "hackers" then this issue would not exist. Everytime we "clean up" in a sense we say, "It's OK hacker, I got you covered". This only encourages him or her to continue! This hacker completes an awesome amount of workload, 3-5 installs a day. Of course he can afford the $25-$40 charge backs with that amount of pay. He/she makes $500-$700 a day so he can afford $125-$200 a day chargeback. After chargebacks that is $375-$500 a day income. Not bad as far as I see it. As sub-contractors we have the right to "Just say no". Oh yes, when we do a reinstall it usually takes much longer than a new install and of course we usually have to use supplies too and of course usually dealing with an annoyed customer too. Is it worth covering for the hacker? I think he costs me time and money.
