thank you to those that replied. i actually respect this site more than what people that i work with have to say as there is at least a partial measure of anonymity and anyone willing to log on AFTER a day in the field has to be at least a little interested in industry's well being. i would still like to hear from more people, as i haven't been called a hack yet so i'm sure that there are many more opinions on the subject. for the guy that mentioned suddenlink..........try the "big d" region as their COMM calls the region. i won't complain as i simply left the system (as did others), no hard feelings. i do understand the provider's view on this and understand that everyone wants something for free, and i feel for the sub that took a day off of work only to have me refuse his job, but i TRUELY believe that it will take a GOOD chunk of COMPETENT contrtractors to stand up to make the codes match the time, effort, and money.
