As for getting paid, I would suggest planting your b_tt in their office for a day or two until they pay you. By law, they should have already given you your final check IN FULL......
if you are an employee and they have terminated you, they should put it in writing. When you go to file for unemployment, this will be your proof. If you don't get proof in this type of situation, the employer can claim that you walked off the job or was laid off due to lack of work. If they try to weasel out of paying unemployment or if they dispute your claim, be prepared to go to your state's labor board to file a claim for wrongful termination - especially since the issue was due to weather AND SAFETY.
