different deal, but same situation. i had 3 pm's today and they all said the same thing, i can be there "right at 12" (there was an article in the dallas morning news and a follow up that got front page billing on the metro section about the poor service for subs from catv, phone and sat over the last week and a half........bastards bitching about a 4 hour time frame like i don't remember 2 hour time frames and 5 8 - 10's an hour from the office..........) so i sit in the office and the qc manager decides to check my pix from yesterday (easter, i ran a double route to make up for the uncovered jobs from the guys that called in, not to mention finished by 6:30 so that dispatch wasn't calling me every 5 minutes) he asks why i don't have pix for the upgrade and trouble call...........i tell him it's because he'd have pix of jobs not done to spec because the cost of total re-installs for jobs done 6 years ago for upgrade prices isn't worth it in materials, let alone the 3 hours to redo the entire job. he started about some jobs are hard and some are easy........i tried for a while to explain that i don't have a problem with tough, but 2 hours and a profit of five bucks is not worth the trouble when i can fix a problem in 10 minutes and spend 2 dollars and gamble on the chargeback. he was pissy for the rest of the day. i expect sh!t work for a week, but for god's sake they came to ME to run two routes on easter, i did them all and there will be no problems on the jobs if the eq doesn't fail. work 2 hours for 5 dollars? kiss my a$$. my nc's will be spotless, but i'm not going to screw only myself, but the entire industry by cleaning up another's bad work for nothing. some people don't get it. scope creep in this industry isn't about quality of service, it's about negotiating an invoice, which is getting more for less. give away the milk and they'll never buy the cow. but only the bottom man will ever use his sac and make that call. and then the good techs will leave. and in the end, who the hell is going to do the good job from the start?

i love the job but i think it's time to go. i'll pray for your good out if you'll pray for mine.
