Re: Broadband Plant Mgr.

First of all you are never going to see it on the analyzer unless you have extreamly fast sweep rate or some kind of storeage, so don't even bother. What you need is a cavity filter (the kind that mount between your feedhorn and LNB). They run about $500 each and work great. I have been getting hit progressively harder at my head-end and have had to buy 8 in the last year (2 are still waiting to be used) for my 8 c-band dishes. You might have luck with the L-band "can" filters but I wouldn't even bother trying, they rarely work to my satisfaction, plus you have to add power inserters to remove & re-insert the 18V LNB power (or some other funky powering scheme. I got mine frome Microwave Filters Inc. (I think) through NCTC. They are a lot smaller and better then the McQuirkle (?sp) filters I first used at Century in Santa Monica (which were a nessesity under the LAX approach). If you have any questions please e-mail me as I don't have time to check this board much lately.

Good luck.
