The court route will eventually maybe get you your money. You have to prove everything. States differ on this but once you have a judgment against the guy you still have to collect your money & eq. I would try to get interest started of the debt as part of the suite. It could be years before you see a penny. Also, putting a lien on property will also work if there is any but you only get paid when he tries to sell it property.
I would try talking first. Suggest a payment plan, stuff like that.
If you see him trying the same stuff elsewhere, that is what this forum and others are for.
