Glenn: You're such a cynic.... and yes if you buy your design from a manufacturer the chances are you will see more Cable Sims. I have observed they design for worst case environments. But that's not what there were originally designed for. In the old world before mid amps in major cities since there were splitters at every block amps were being placed closer together so it became neccessary to Simulate more cable distance.
