Leave On or Turn Off?

When installing Dish Systems a common question is, should I turn off the receiver at night or should I leave it on. Over the years I've been installing Dish I've been telling people to leave them on at night to take on any program guide or revised software downloads. It seems general opinion is 6 to 1 and a half dozen of the other. Which is correct?
