Yup,
I'm in Maryland and we get a little kightning but.......Florida...they should know.
Other stuff I picked up:
A loop or loose knot in a power cord will protect the implement from even massive power surges.
Ground wire longer than 10' will "burn open" and ground somewhere else.
Many lightning damage issues come from phone connections.
Houses that get hit by lightning are owned by sinners and Thor has decided their number is up.
If you connect a ground bond and get sparks and or arcing there are major wire problems. If you connect to it and are lucky you will only flip a breaker.
