You must be a suit.......... MAny contractors make 100K . CONTRACTORS make that kind of money because they have overhead. THe going rate for telecom contractors is $90/hr. $45/hr is WAY low. Get a PBX guy, or a phone co. tech out to perform work at your place of business. $45/hr is not the the price you will hear. Contractors should be getting the big bucks because they have the big expenses. People such as yourself want to see contractors paid about the same as employees. You guys just dont get it...
WHat is it with you suits and the word volume. Volume does noy justify massive cuts in pay. Stop being concerned about what the techs weekly earning are. Just pay the correct price PER JOB, whether I do 1 or 100 installs just pay the right price. Volume has become my most hated word.
