Amp grounding issue?

I have a GNA 298 that would lose all output when I closed the lid. I replaced the module with a known good module. When I closed it again It stayed active, but levels dropped about 8db. If I back the 2 bolts closest to outputs 2 and 4 just slightly, my levels are restored to desired output. I don't want to leave it like that obviously, but I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. The grounding clips that seat in the housing look fine, there are no signs of corrosion and the gasket looks to be in perfect shape. Do I need to replace the housing and if so, what is it in the housing that would cause this problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated. (confused)
