I have ran into a few doozies myself, 1 wanted 5000 retainage where others wanted 1500, then a clause that stated contractor must give 30 days written notice to modify or terminate this contract, which must be mutally agreed by both parties in writing, failure to do so will be cause for contractor to forfiet final payments and all retainages due. I hit him up about it, he said change 30 days notice to 14 days, I told him I am not signing anything with forfiet on it, that means you can reach into my pockets and take a lot of dollars, he said I know, I caught him off guard. The stupidity of that one apalls me, you know!!
