I'm a sub of a prime, and I'll tell you why I don't want to be a prime......the MSOs pay when they want. Yeah you might get paid, but it might be 6 months out. I don't have that kind of cash flow, and if I did I wouldn't blow it on this work, I'd be on a permanent vacation.
Anyway, I too have seen MSOs and Primes not pay. All it takes is one as.hole of a so-called manager to sit on paperwork, "lose" paperwork or pictures or other mound of documentation that it cost you a fortune at Kinko's to provide (i.e. 11x17 color asbuilts, in triplicate). I have a strong suspicion that some of the construction supervisors at MSOs and Primes I have run across can't even read. So if you want to blame everything on hacks, you're not seeing the big picture -- it all starts at the top.....
I don't hire hacks either, their too costly to my workers comp rates.
