Theres a vast array of new technology out there regarding HDTV, some brands are easier than others to deal with menu options to change inputs, aspect ratio and resolution.
If there is a high end Audio/Video dealer in your area, I'd suggest going in and talking to a rep and getting some face to face info and check out some different brands.
It's not the end all to your question but it's a place to start to get some good info.
