My hub is a Viet Nam vet, and has told me some stories about people's reactions on his return from there - they were not considered heroes as were the military in previous wars, and we'll leave it at that. What people never considered is that these young men were over there doing their jobs....and some of them drafted to be there, on top of that...when it's your life or the enemy's, the choices are pretty simple. Our own Marine baby sent me a pic when he was in Iraq of him holding his weapon and an axe over his shoulder. When I asked him what the axe was for, he said "Well, momma, it ain't for chopping firewood."
God Bless our military, one and all, and those who don't appreciate what they do, should not be in this country.
