Try checking the TV side first and see if you get the same thing. If you do check to see if you are getting any voltage coming back from the TV.
If you do then the splitter is acting as a CAP and building up electrical interfearence/noise in the splitter it's self. When you take the set off your discharging it. If you find voltage put a voltage block on the TV side of the splitter.
