Re: easement and right of ways

Typically an easment is where the utlitiies are placed. The developer or land owner grants an easment that is recorded with that platt of land. The right of way pertains to roads typically. When a road is constructed there is granted an amount of land that is wider than the road. So on a front lot in a subdivision there is a 25 foot road right of way with a 10 foot utility easment. So from the center line of the road you can measure 22.5 feet and place you cable in that space. In most areas that I have worked in they are interchangeable.
