Re: Low band issue


This look like a open somewhere. Look for a bad connection somewhere. In this type of problem, (bad connection) only the low band is affected, as for the high band, one side of the bad connection act as a transmitter and the other side as a receiver and some time the loss can be as much as 0.5 of a dB. As for low band, this principal of TX and RX is not possible because of low frequency and the loss in this type can be as much as 30 to 40 dB.
Look for a F-81 type of connection where the center spring is spread a part and cause a bad connection, this happen very often with RG-6 and not as much with RG-59. This could be in any of the RG connection between the multitap and the cable modem. Could also be the input connection of the cable modem it self.
