I love that smell too! My Husband and Ex Husband both grew up here. I have been here about 16 years. My Ex has pictures of the space shuttle Challenger being towed down what is now called Challenger Way. People were walking along side and even touching the Shuttle! Can you remember that? I will ask him if I can barrow the pictures and try to put them up here. You guys will trip.
The SR_71's are now mounted at Blackbird Airpark, which is now part of Lockheed. Challanger Way ends at the gate on the other side of Lockeed. It makes sense since if the fence was gone the road would lead right to that crane that takes the shuttle off the DC10? or whatever it rides piggy back on. Let me know next time you are in town...
