The problem is usually idiot customers. Once they see hi-def quality, they expect standard def to look just as good. I hear it all the time:
"Why aren't my regular channels as sharp as my hi-def channels?"
"BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HI-DEF, YA PUTZ!"
